Cant believe I have been working for 3 months already! This explain why I have not been updating regularly. I spent my energy in work... and whenever I have the time I go out or sleep...

Been busy going for family gatherings as well...
 


Now, Eating is my hobby. Boyf and I spent lots of money eating junk food. VERY BAD HABIT OF OURS.

But it's never fair... He never get fat but I did. I dont even dare to weigh myself anymore. HAHAHAHAHAHA! He bought this pants when he was in taipei. Can you believe it he ate so much during his trip he can fit into this VERY BIG PANTS. I think it's CRAZY. REAL CRAZY. That 1/4 of him is long gone... thanks to army.



OKAY I SERIOUSLY HATE UPLOADING THE PICTURES NOW. BOO BOO BOO!!!

Cant wait for my long weekend break next week.

5days long break... I seriously cant wait. If only bangkok is safe enough to go... TOO BAD TOO BAD!

Cant help feeling bad for not updating my blog for the whole month!!! It's exactly one month already and Im already with my company for 2 whole months. Another 20 odds days and I will be completing my 3 month probation. Of cos it's not the end I will have to complete my half year probation before I know if the pay increment is trueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Work is piling up... true true true I should have appreciated my very slack times during the first 1 month. But if Im given a choice, I rather slog like mad... or should I say slog like now. HAHAHAHA!!! 

THAT CHALLENGE AND STRESS CAN KILL ME BUT IM ENJOYING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF IT.

Anyway, I dont understand why August always have to be sooooooooooooo short. There goes my birthday. Something I learnt in August - Bday can be so much more exciting when I dont plan a single thing cos everything will be SURPRISE SURPRISE.

I went Sentosa, Buffet, Singapore Flyer, Romantic Walk hahahahahahahaaha gotten all my presents and end off the day with a surprise bday cake(the only one cake I love so much). Hunny bunny is such a sweetheart this year. I must say hes no longer that woodblock.

 
I was trying to act like a tourist by carrying that funny looking canon bagggggggggggggggggggg.

We almost signed up for the license. Lucky we managed to hold back ourselves. It's gonna be boring if you do this often, serious. That same track over and over againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

I had a very nice bday celebration with my besties too!!! They are lovely they REALLY MANAGED TO SURPRISE ME!!!

 

CRABSSSS. They satisfy my craving so much by having a crab feast on my bdayyyyyyyyyyyy. I love chilli crabs and I love creamy butter crabs MORE!!!





Thank you everyone... for making my birthday such a fantastic one. Thanks to all the people who bother to celebrate my bday with me... all the people who had a share in the presents. THANK YOU!!!

Lastly, my dear sis got me a very cute bday cake to celebrate the end of my teenage yearssssssssssssssss. HAHAHA I cant stop laughing when she came into the house with a strawberry shortcake cake (if you know what strawberry shortcake is... it isnt a cake but a cartoon character I guess). And I really love the very very sexy tube top she gotten for me from the US and that fragrance. First time using cos I always have sensitive nose. It's hard to get me suitable fragrance.

Okay Im feeling tired.

Cant help but smile when I see August page in orange. I love August and I love orange.



Now you know why I love my job. I lugged one whole big bag of ice cream home sis said I could possibly be murdered by any movenpick fan. HAHAHA! Now all those tubs are lying around in my freezer. I think I will finish it off before anyone get to eat it. One tub per day keep the office away.



I think their tiramisu is even better. Try it.



I also made some ugly looking non-baked cheesecake. That's chocolate sponge cake inside. I love the combination of the cream cheese and the cake. You see, sometimes ugly looking things are the best. Just like my cheesecake. HAHAHA!!!



Hello there Orchard Road! Went on my shopping spree the previous day. I promise myself not to shop like crazy but I still did. BUTTTT I got all my things at discounted rates. I thought the GSS was long over?

I thought I look very old nowadays. I'm not sure if it's the work or what but all my wrinkles are appearing and I just cant stop feeling old. 

Anyway, my director told me that the marcom dept is gonna make me a "STAR". Yes, the asst. mgr asked me to be their "model" for the coming ads that will be released soon. I agreed initially thinking that it would be a fun experience... you know, to be appearing in the newspaper ads, the posters, etc etc. BUT SORRY TO SAY, I REJECTED IT IN THE END.

 

I am thinking of straightening my teeth. Cant help but feel jealous when I see my sis with her perfect white pearlies! It's fine looking ugly for 2-3 years cos the remaining years will be good. HA HA HA!

Alright I have to admit that life's getting kind of dull. It's the same old routine everyday! Once I reached home from work, I will have a good bath & prepare my "VERY SUMPTOUS" dinner (which comprise of a bunch of vege, carrot and 3 pieces of hotdog) HAHAHA! Talking about food, I have been eating lots of snacks lately!!! Especially on the wkends. NO DISCIPLINE AT ALL. Well done, girl! :(

I love family BBQ cos there's always the best food! As you know, there will never be such a thing called BUDGET so I always get to enjoy all the delicacies that are BBQ-ed to perfection by all the maids(or perhaps we should call them the domestic helpers). My job is just to eat. Much simpler. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Come to think of it, I really dont know why I was holding onto those plates for the whole time. This stupid banana DROPPED ON THE FLOOR before I even had a bite on it. & this caused my lunch mates to laughed at me for the whole time!!! In the end, I spent $1.40 just to eat one banana. GREAT.

Did I mentioned that my lunch mates are from Phillipines? They are so fun to be with... they take my mind off work at least for that 45mins lunch break.

I'm going into the 4th week of working in the company already and work is indeed piling up. I love the feeling of working in a fast- paced environment... time pass really QUICKLY now as compared to 2 weeks back.

Today's also the first time I joined in the Merchandise Mtg. I realised that sometimes it's all about having the courage to go to the director to ask for the permission to join the mtg. 

Anyway it was a lil intense... but I really enjoyed it alot. I know a lot more things that the merchandisers have to do (I mean I nv know until I step into the mtg today). Talk about REALITY.

BEST PART ABOUT BEING IN THE MERCHANDISING DEPT or should I say PART OF THE MEETING is that we get to know about stuff that are not released yet and do product tasting like theres no tomorrow!!! Ok, now what's so good about doing/ knowing all these things first?

I'm lucky cos today's product listings was on FOOD. I get to taste juices, milk, snacks, confect. and MOONCAKE(Now I wish the mooncake festival is here I cant wait to eat more mooncakes)!!! 

Sometimes I have to bring things back home to try because my director want my opinions. HAHAHA!!! It's good that she knows I love food, am a coffee drinker and cook/ bake alot. I think It's also time I get to know the CM(that's what we call our buyers in the office) better. HAH HAH HAH!

Now I'm a contented girl :)

I have not been practising my piano. BAD BAD BAD!!!

Yes... Yes... Yes... I know it's been a million year since I post an entry. Not because life's dull... but because I have been too tired to even switch on my dear old laptop everytime I gt home from work =(

Work really absorb alot of my energy... now I'm a good girl I slp at 10pm everyday. I repeat, 10PM EVERYDAY.

Okay, did you see me saying something like life's not dull???

I just had a talk with the C** last Friday. It's really cool cos he actually took the time to talk to me. Dont get it wrong, he spend time talking to ALL his new employees. 

Though it was short... it was really ENRICHING. I learnt a lot more things. Like how he started with just a $400 full time job and work his way up? And how the other C** was only a dept manager in one of the stores but work his way up too???

Good that I wasnt tensed up at all. He said hes gonna talk to me somemore another day (cos that short chat was REALLY SHORT).

He gave some tips and words of wisdom to excel and to help me understand my immediate boss better. HAHA! Now Im gonna work damn smart and be sure that I'm first in the queue... if not the first few in the queue.

Anyway, he told me that it's always good to accumulate some working experience before furthering my studies cos a lot of things will be so much simpler by then. STUDIES, maybe a year or two later.

 

PROACTIVE is the word.

ALRITE, guess what! MY B'DAY IS COMING. My day. The only day to be the baddie and yet everyone has to comply to whatever I say! I am not getting DS LITE (now I feel stupid for wanting to get one) but my new found love- CASIO EX - S10 in red.

I want a joyous dinner at my favourite restaurant.

Even potatoes are proud to be potatoes, to be fried and eventually turned into yummy chips for humans to enjoy. We humans should be proud of ourselves too, isnt it??? Some cupcakes to share. Vanilla Cupcake with Oreo!!!

this vanilla cupcake recipe is good enough to be kept (I add in the oreo on my own). Gotta try other flavours soon. I love the texture and the taste. Just need to get suitable cupcake pan/cups. 

It wasnt wrong of me to choose to bake this instead of cream puff. I will bake again, soon soon soon. I wanna share it with everybody. 

ANYWAY, Im vexed over those cream puff lah! I dont know why they always sink in the end. (after raising so much).

The urge to bake some cupcake is because of this shop - PAISLEY AND CREAM. Located at Clarke Quay Central.

Look at that design - fork shaped by chocolate powder. AND AND AND look at that frosting with that heart shape. It melts my heart so muchhhh. Whats so nice about this is that theres more chocolate frosting inside the cupcake. (So this also inspired me to hide oreo inside my cupcakes.) Imagine the whole cupcake filled w oreo. Yummms.

I am back here AGAIN. This past 1 week has been real hectic for me! Still trying to get used to my new environment.

The typical OL. Now that my weekdays are all filled w work... I really learn how to appreciate my free time more. Hope the $$$ that come in by the end of next month is really gonna cheer me up!!! HAHAHA!

One thing amusing about my department is that ALMOST ALL THE PEOPLE THERE ARE FEMALES. Well I guess this is the correct way since I belong to the merchandising department. Females know how to bargain and buy/shop better? Alright, I am not trying to stereotype here.



Besides work, I played monopoly!!! My all time favourite boardgame... You can never imagine how Monopoly can get so exciting w me around!!! So I won in the end and conquered all the properties on the board, except for 2- which is really of no use. I still have like so much cash after using $20 000 to buy away the orchard/scott road/tanglin district! You see, I buy people's things off (amount to be neg. "privately") if that person have no money and just cant stop playing the game. It makes the whole game so much more exciting!

So NEVER play 1 on 1 monopoly with me. I play w strategy. HAHAHA! But when it comes to a group of people... my strategy is just thrash. So now you know I seldom play monopoly w lots of people! HAHAAHAAA that's because I only have the urge to play it at night.



Side track... so I tried baking swiss roll the other day.



Alright, I am going to abandon my baking book already. I realised the texture I get is always rough. This time round the swiss roll is very sweeeeeeeeeet and my pan is abit too small. My swiss roll break when I tried rolling it. SHIT.

ALSO, NEVER BUY READY MADE WHIPPED CREAM LAH!!! Thinking that I can save some time (cos I rush hm from work to do my baking), I bought the ready- made whipped cream. It is so ............ okay I dont know what to say I just hate it.

Sis asked me along for her Hen Party, which is like next friday - 27th Jun 08.

So I will most probably rush over to town after my volunteer work to meet her. Yes, I signed up for another programme- STORY TELLING TRAINING!!! I can't wait to attend. We will be trained to become "professional" story tellers and we will go around in groups story telling to the kids in the different libraries! It's like what I have always been hoping to do so I signed up for it even thou Geylang East can be very far.

Anyway, the whole idea of having the Hen Party is to go club, drink and DONT go home. We will be clubbing till we get sick of the whole idea and then stay over at the hotel. Yea, CLUB. I seriously think I will be freaked out by the whole thing. BUT THEN BUT THEN I HAVE ONLY 1 SIS... SO ITS GONNA BE FINE. Just once, for her. SHES LIKE THE ONLY SOUL IN THIS WORLD WHO NV GIVE UP ON ME. though we argue sometimes... HAHAHA!

In case you are wondering whats a Hen Party... It's a party where only women are present/invited. To put it simply, it's like a farewell party to her SINGLE life. Single as in NOT MARRIED.

Sometimes Im still not used to the idea that she will be married, for real. And then I will have like one extra big brother? But Im really happy happy that she has found someone so super nice to the extent where I have no much comments to make about him and even to the extent where I will side him whenever theres any "commotion" going on?

Alright, I spent a total of 200bucks the previous day when I was out. My piano fees, my clothes, bag, shoes and also my food and transport for the day!!! So it isnt alot. HAHAHA! At least it really cheered me up a little.

I AM STARTING MY FIRST FULL-TIME JOB IN 2 DAYS TIME! I CANT WAITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

I still need to get some more things for my desk. Like more photo frames and plants??? Might as well go buy later when I go sign my letter w the company. The BIG IKEA is there.

So I wasnt feeling right the previous day. I just kept talking about cakes and pastries till a point where I have the urge to bake a cake. I think it's very brave of me, really! HAHAHA! Since everytime I bake, my cake just doesnt seem right. 

The total damage for a Tuesday's afternoon is $45. Ya, you must be thinking what the hell did I actually put into the cake that makes it worth 45bucks!!! But no, the ingredients only cost $22. I spent the remaining on equipments and whathaveyou?



Theres the palette knife, wire rack, mini size measuring cup, new baking tin, weighing scale and the sieve. They are my prized possession. To put it simply, they are like how a girl sees her LV bag???

I got to add on more to the collection soon! I still need a good piping bag, nozzles, rolling pin, more baking tins, different kind of palette knives, etc etc...

Dont get it wrong. I am still an amateur. 

I bet dad wouldnt want to give me extra allowance if he knows I spend on these kinda things! HAHAHAHA!

Now it's ready for some frosting! NO NO NO, you must make sure it cools completely! Patience is the word.

One wrong thing that I did was to frost it with milk chocolate. I should have chose dark chocolate instead. Cos I find it a tad too sweet. BUT THEN AGAIN, sis says it's nice. Perhaps it's considered alright for the sweet tooth.




 

Anyway, have u ever wondered why chef's uniform is in white??? According to Guy D. Sockrider, C.E.C.

1) Chef Marie-Antoine Careme redesigned the uniform during the 1800's and chose white as the colour to represent the cleanliness in the kitchen!!!

HAHAHA! So everytime you wanna go to a restaurant/cafe for meals, pls request to see the chef for a moment! It might be a really good indication as to how clean the kitchen is.

Alright, one more interesting fact: The folded pleats of a torque were said to be an indication of the number of ways in which the chef can cook an egg. Mind you, theres more than 100 pleats on the torque!


I will be starting work next Monday. MY HOLS IS ENDING IN 4 and 1/2 DAYS TIME.

Suddenly, I look around me and realised there isnt anyone whos really free to be bothered by what I wanna say or how I really feel. Or perhaps there isnt a suitable candidate to hear what I have to say?

For one moment Im full of energy and then I feel ALL empty the next.

I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE I REALISE MY DREAM. 

This is the only time where I have the courage to play with my time. I am still young. I can afford to take the risk. I wouldnt want to regret when Im 35 years old cos opportunity only come once.

I AM GOING TO DO IT. I am going to realise my dream with all the sweat and effort. SO WHAT IF I WILL BE LOWLY "PAID" AND I HAVE TO WORK SUPER LONG HOURS???

It's nth cos I know I will enjoy doing it. IT IS SOMETHING I CAN CALL MINE. 

It is my baby and I will make sure it grow as "large" as possible.

Alright, maybe I have been stuck at home for quite some time so the habit of planning for everything come again!

  

Some of the things that I'm gonna accomplished:

1) To complete my driving lessons and to pass tp with only 1 attempt. I'm not dreaming...since Im taking auto. Many pple told me that it's super easy compared to the manual one.

2) Piano!!! I am so excited!!! I can't wait to get to grade 8 or even a diploma one day. Okays, I know it's gonna take years. Maybe if i put in enough effort, I can play like "ZHOU DONG" wahahahahaha! insider's joke!

3) To learn dancing. Not hip hop or whatever, but WALTZ! Perhaps im under some fairy tales' influence.

4) To take up some pastry/baking classes or perhaps a diploma. I really need it in order for me to run the business well. I am so excited about this whole business thing!!! I really hope it can work out well. It's my dream afterall. So I guess I will be stuck in Singapore for the time being, I need to run the biz and to expand it. No time for any hols alrdy. Glad that I went for a few hols alrdy. PHEWWWW! Im ready to go, once again.

5) To do all that I have listed out for myself. Okay, I did something funny. I came up with like 30 "guidelines" to help me become a better person. CANT BELIEVE IT RIGHT!!! But I just feel that I have been a very bad person for a very long time. It is time I really change for the better. HEEHEEHEE!!! Perhaps I shud make those 30 "guidelines" into a poster and to hang it on my wall so I can see it everyday before I slp.

Perhaps, I will get my direction after today/ tomorrow. BUTTERFLIES IN MY STOMACH- my favourite phrase.

I think I am so excited that my veins are exploding alrdy!!!

Alright, so the whole family celebrated fathers' day over the weekend. Sat night was spent at Sembawang Park- Beaulieu House. Got to say that I will nv ever go back to that place again. PLEASE, the food and service is BAD.

It was an impromptu plan so I had to cancel my movie plan and I only get to shop a little! =(

I bought my RED cardigan, like finally...finally...finally! Why red? HAHAHA! Of cos this red cardigan is just one of the things I bought.

Also bought present for hui yi. Her bday is coming! Can't wait to see my bunch of girls. I am so glad that I spent my 2nd year and 3rd year of poly with them.

So today was well spent. Had lunch with dad at one of my favourite chinese restaurants and he ordered my favourite food. This is the first time I celebrated Fathers' Day with him. Hope he like my present =)

After the lunch was more shopping! HAHAHAHA! I just cant stop spending it's as if I have not spent for years.

I am still at a junction, struggling!

Alright, after watching absolute boyfriend (a new japanese show) I am so addicted to cream puff!!! I wanna eat them and I wanna try baking them.

I even dreamt abt how one of the male leads tear the puff into 2 and sink their teeth into the puff, so that the cream inside stained the whole of their lips. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!!!

I know that Beard Papa in S'pore isnt as good as the one in Japan but I am still gonna satify my craving for today.

Now the desire to bake and bake come again. 

Sis gave me baileys so I think I am gonna try tiramisu soon. Maybe I should do something for the gathering with my girls- xue and mel.
